BASKAUSKAS has
served on the CYTA Board as Vice-President since 1998. He currently
teaches
yoga in Danville and Concord, California, and he has been practicing
yoga since 1990. Ed is an attorney who makes his living as a freelance
writer. He lives in Martinez, California, with his wife and son.
JUDITH
HANSON LASATER, Ph.D, and Physical
Therapist and internationally-known yoga teacher, has taught yoga since
1971. She is a founder of the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San
Francisco as well as Yoga Journal magazine. Ms. Lasater frequently
trains teachers in virtually every state and is often an invited guest
at international yoga conventions. She is President of the California
Yoga Teachers' Association as well as the author of numerous articles
on yoga and health for nationally recognized magazines. She is the
author of 30 Essential
Yoga Poses: For Beginning Students and Their Teachers,
Relax
and Renew: Restful Yoga for Stressful Times and Living
Your Yoga: finding the spiritual in everyday life.
ELISE
MILLER, has a M.A. in Therapeutic
Recreation from the University of North Carolina and is an Intermediate
Senior Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher from Palo Alto, California.
Elise is a founding director of theCalifornia
Yoga Center in Mountain View, CA and has taught since 1976. Having
a scoliosis, Elise has employed yoga for the past 30 years to heal her
own back condition. She teaches classes, runs a private practice specializing
in back and sports-related injuries, and teaches workshops and retreats
around the world. Elise is co-author of
Life is a Stretch, Yoga Anytime, Anywhere, published by Llewellyn
Publications.
LINDA
E. RAWLINGS has Bachelor degrees in
Mathematics and in Fine Arts (Dance) from Bates College, Lewiston, Maine.
She also has an MBA from UC Berkeley's School of Business as well as a
Masters inJournalism from UC Berkeley. She has danced for the San Francisco
Dance Theater and the San Francisco Opera Ballet, founded
Express Dance Company, New Shoes Old Souls Dance Company, and
has produced and performed with the Yoga
Garden Dancers. Her board memberships include the Mark Morris
Dance Group, Cal Performances, and the California Yoga Teachers Association.
Linda has four daughters, and is currently travelling through Asia investigating
additional business, writing and performance! art opportunities.
RICHARD
ROSEN is the deputy director of the Yoga
Research and Education Center in Santa Rosa, California, headed
by Georg Feuerstein. He's a contributing editor at Yoga
Journal, for which he writes a regular column and occasional book
reviews and articles. His work has also appeared in Yoga International,
Ascent, and Yoga Aktuell, the national German yoga magazine. His first
book, The Yoga of Breath, will be published by Shambhala in the
summer of 2002. Richard has been teaching yoga since 1987. He lives in
Berkeley, California, with his wife and beautiful eight-year-old daughter.
